Dr. Sudhir Gadh, MD
Experienced, Innovative Care
Dr. Sudhir Gadh, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist who works at Mind Dynamics, a center for psychotherapy and coaching, and maintains a private practice. He specializes in treating patients with ADD, anxiety, and trauma. He works with patients who are interested in and motivated to uncover and overcome their own obstacles. He enjoys helping people recover from their pain, move forward, and thrive.
Dr. Gadh works with patients who have suffered trauma to educate them on it’s effects and its recovery. He aims to help his patients find their true purpose and examine what brings lasting pleasure and meaning to their lives.
His approach involves encouraging patients to pursue a healthy lifestyle— including adjustments in organization, diet choices, intoxication, exercise habits and sleep hygiene— all to optimize their brain health. He considers medications to be useful, but not necessarily indefinitely. They can however, play an important role in all phases of psychiatric treatment and give a boost to patients' progress - a "pills and skills" approach.
Dr. Gadh is available to his patients 24/7 by phone or text. He prides himself on being flexible and accommodating and offers Skype and FaceTime appointments whenever travel to the office might be difficult.
For the past ten years, Dr. Gadh has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and private clinic settings. He previously served as an attending psychiatrist and Unit Chief at NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center for seven years. While he was a resident at Stony Brook University, he was awarded the Steven Samek Award for Compassion in recognition of his work with the families of patients. In addition to his private practice, he works with the U.S. Navy Medical Corps to improve and ensure the health of returning sailors and Marines.
He serves as a Commander in the Naval Reserve and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Gadh holds an undergraduate degree from New York University and a medical degree from St. George's University. He did his residency training at SUNY Stony Brook and a fellowship in Public Psychiatry at NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center.
In his free time, he enjoys cycling around the city, collecting vinyl records, and reading The New York Times.
